Ingredients

500 g flour
15 g yeast
75 g sugar
1/4 liter milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
80 g butter
500 ml Brändle vita peanut oil
100 g powdered sugar

Preparation

  1. Put the flour in a bowl and keep warm. Mix the yeast with a little sugar and lukewarm milk. Make a well in the center of the flour and mix in the yeast and milk to form a thick pre-dough. Cover the bowl with a cloth and keep warm.
  2. After about 30 minutes, add the sugar, salt, and lukewarm milk to the pre-dough and mix everything together. Add the warmed eggs, melted butter, and enough milk to make a soft dough. Knead until bubbles appear and the dough comes away from the spoon/bowl. Then cover it again and leave it in a warm place to rise.
  3. After about 30 minutes, roll out the dough to about the thickness of a finger, cut out squares with a pastry wheel, and then fry them in hot peanut oil until they are light brown. Remove from the oil and drain well.
  4. Once cooled, sprinkle the doughnuts with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar as desired.
